Save Your Current Outfit!
Before we start experimenting with outfits, let’s save what we are currently wearing just in case disaster strikes and you end up naked!
We’ve all done it. You think it won’t feel like you have been caught in the middle of the city sleepwalking in your birthday suit, because after all they are just animated pixels; but we guarantee you will scrambling to put on a complete outfit like the rest of us. So let’s make our first outfit now.
OPEN THE APPEARANCE – OUTFITS WINDOW
Three ways to access the appear window. Which works best for you?
Avatar / then Appearance
> Right-Click on Yourself;
> Choose “Appearance”;
> Choose “Edit Outfit” ;
Click the “Save As” Button.
> Give your outfit a name and click “Ok”;
This action just saved everything you have on – including your shape, skin, hair and eyes, everything. If you save an outfit with a snake wrapped around your arm, when you put the outfit back on – the snake will be added back to your avatar along with everything else!
How to Change Your Clothes
Open your Inventory.
Click the Recent Tab across the top.
We are looking for two folders:
>> Tshirts from Inspiration Island
>> Pants from Inspiration Island
Click the arrow next to the folder to expand it and see the contents.
TO WEAR AN ITEM
>> Right Click, then wear.
If you studied your inventory icons, you know that you collected some pants and some tshirts, that are actually designed from the jacket template.
Each time you right-click and choose Wear, it will replace the pants or jacket you are currently wearing. If you wanted to layer, or wear more than one pair of pants or more than one jacket, you would choose the Add option.
You see, each system clothing item is assigned an attachment designation. To explain, the undershirt, shirt, jacket layers will always be visualized in that order. An undershirt will never be placed on top of a jacket.
FAQ: Why are the Inspiration Island Tshirts made from the jacket template instead of the shirt template? Simple. The jacket template is longer, and we like long tshirts! Learn more about this in the next lesson.
SAVE SOME NEW OUTFITS
Take a moment to practice by trying on different pants and shirts. When you find a combination you like, or just for practice, save that new combination as an official outfit.
>>OPEN the EDIT OUTFIT window.

Right-Click, “Replace Current Outfit”
You find yourself completely naked but wearing an Inspiration Island Shower curtain. So be careful when you decide to add earrings to your outfit at a party! Make sure you right click on the item itself and choose “ADD”. Why “ADD” and not “WEAR”? As mentioned earlier in this lesson, “wearing” will replace whatever is in the assigned “add location”. So anytime you are adding accessories: jewelry, makeup, tattoos, usually wiser to “ADD” the item.
>>Refocus on your EDIT OUTFITS window,
>>Redress with your desired outfit.
